• The level of cooperation that the Ombudsman’s Office has received from the insurer.

The Ombudsman, Deputy Ombudsman and Assistant Ombudsmen rate each insurer who is a member of the Ombudsman’s Office, based upon the abovementioned criteria over a period of a year. A short-list of three finalists is determined. The winner and runners-up are announced at the launch of the Ombudsman’s Annual Report. The winner walks away with a floating trophy, which was commissioned by top KwaZulu Natal artist, Sarah Richards and receives a Certificate of Achievement.

OSTI announces its winner and runners-up of the Isabel Jones Ukusizana Award for 2010.  Outsurance once again, took the top honours with Relyant Insurance Company in second place and Centriq Insurance in third place.  The award was launched in 2008 and seeks to recognise the significant contribution made by the short-term insurance industry towards the functioning of the Ombudsman’s Office and to promote consumer confidence in the industry.  Dedicated to consumer champion, the late Isabel Jones, Outsurance was the first recipient to receive the award in 2008 and has again managed to secure the top spot.
